Question:

When does one receive the Holy Spirit?

Answer:

This is one of the easiest questions I have ever gotten! The Bible is very clear on this one. In the first gospel sermon, when asked "What we must do?" Peter replied in Acts 2:38-39, "Repent and be baptized so that your sins may be forgiven. And you will receive the gift of the HOly Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off–for all whom the Lorde our God will call." We receive the promise of the Holy Spirit when we are cut to the heart (Acts 2:37) repent and are baptized into Christ. Later, Peter told his hearers that God will give the Holy Spirit to those who obey him. This is clearly a reference back to Acts 2:38.
