Question:

According to the Koran, Jesus was only a prophet, before whom other prophets had passed away (5:75) and his mission to the Jews was to clarify for them some of what they differed about (43:63). It is in direct contradiction with the Prophets and Epistles. What should be the Christian response?

Answer:

What you say is certainly true.  Here is the explanation. Muhammad is a false prophet, and he is simply wrong.  Islam is a false religion, founded by a deceiving so-called prophet.  I am not simply spouting rhetoric.  Jesus was far more than a prophet.  He lived a sinless life (unlike Muhammad).  He worked awesome miracles, including calming a great storm, walking on water, creating bread and fish, and raising the dead.  He fulfilled dozens of messianic prophecies and he, himself, as prophesied, was raised from the dead.  If the New Testament is true (as the Qur’an itself says it is–calling it Injil), then the Qur’an is mistaken.  There is no way around this problem for Islam.  Muhammad is just plain wrong.
