Dr. John Oakes taught a class for the South Florida Church of Christ 8/30/2013 on Christianity and Postmodernism.  In the class Dr. Oakes explains the history of modernism, discussing its strengths and weaknesses.  From there, he explains why modernism led to postmodernism, followed by a discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of the postmodern mindset.  His goal is not to show that postmodernism is inherently evil or the enemy of all things Christian, but more to help us to understand this mindset, with both its good and bad points, with the idea of helping us to both respond to the postmodern generation and to know how to most effectively reach out to them.    The video is available at:
