Outline for Reliability and Inspiration of the Bible:
1. The manuscripts and the reliability of the New Testament and Old Testament text.
2. The history of the canonization of the Old and New Testaments.
3. Inspiration and Inerrancy of the Bible.
We will be spending quite a bit of time on arriving at a solid definition of inerrancy. Questions related to this topic include:
a. Supposed inconsistencies and contradictions.
b. Errors of transmission and of translation.
c. Editorial license, chronological “errors”, rounding off of numbers, use of hyperbole, etc.
