Question:

If Methuselah was the oldest man in the Bible, then how could he die before his father?

Answer:

Because his father Enoch did not die, Methuselah did not die before his father died, simply because his father did not die. Methuselah is the oldest person who was alive on the earth, at least as recorded in the Bible. Enoch stopped living on the earth at 365 years according to Genesis 5:23. If so, he definitely did not live in a human, physical body on the earth as long as Methuselah did.
