Dr. John Oakes gave a class for the Petionville region of the Port au Prince Church of Christ in Haiti 4/28/2024.  The class is on ethical issues related to culture and the Bible.  This is a particular issue in the conservative culture in Haiti, influenced by legalistic Pentecostal teachings.  In the lesson, Dr. Oakes discusses why “rules” are not helpful, using Colossians 2:13-13, and the Christian teaching of freedom in Christ from Galatians 5:1-5, and the need for the “strong” to protect the consciences of the “weak” from Romans 14 and 1 Cor 10.  Cultural Issues and Christian Ethics Notes    Cultural and Christian Ethics PPT    Culture, Ethics and Christianity French Audio
