Question:

I am from Palestine, Bethlehem but I live in Spain. I am Christian and I never doubted God´s existence until the other day and I feel really lost. I was desperate, thirsty for help until I found your website. I went to a priest, they couldnt help me get my faith back. Your website is like a miracle a sign sent to me. I am all the time reading your articles so I decided to write you directly because you are my only hope now. Let me start from the beginning. I never believed in people who could see the future. The other day, my friend wanted to go to this witch to see what her future holds. I laughed, but I said yeah sure. Let’s go. As we were there, she looked at me and told me all my life in 10 mts!!! She was right in every single thing. She said facts that had happened to me. This is when I started questioning everything around me. Life looked surreal! She said spirits told her all of this. I haaven’t slept for weeks thinking there were spirits beside me. It was crazy. I start questioning God, why we are here, what about the UFOs. There are so many evidences that they exist and I question why? I question everything. I feel I am in a diferent world. I see everything in a diferent perspective and am really scared! Can you please help explain these things to me and why I am passing through this moment of doubt? I feel I am losing my faith! There are so many mysteries and I am thirsty for answers. Help me please thank you so much!!

Answer:

I am not sure I can give you a definite answer to the actual experience you had. As I see it, there are two possible explanations of the "religious experience" you had with this "witch" you visited. First of all, clearly this was a really bad decision. You should know as a believer in the God of the Bible that it is foolish and even sinful to consult a medium/witch/practitioner of the occult. Consulting such spiritualists is plainly forbidden, both in the Old Testament and the New Testament. Galatians 5:20 warns us that we should not be involved in "sorcery." Leviticus 19:31 is a command not to turn to mediums or to consult spiritists. When we willfully choose to disobey God’s command to stay away from such people, we should expect that God will not bless our rebellion against his command.

Of course, now that this already happened, this is "water under the bridge." You cannot undo your past actions, but can only repent of them. The question is what to do with the mental state you are now in as a result of having listened to a spiritist’s satanical words. Like I already said, I am not absolutely sure how to explain the actual experience you had. The way way I see it, there are two possibilities.

1. Possibly this "witch" is just a very talented and smart person who knows how to manipulate people into believing she has miraculous powers. Some people are very perceptive and are able to use clues from your facial expressions and sufficient insight into personality types and "intuition" about human nature to be able to create the false impression that they have some sort of satanic or other mystical ability to know facts cannot easily be explained. In other words, there is an excellent chance that this woman is just a charlatan–a rip-off artist who preys on gullible people.

2. Another possibility is that this woman really has some sort of mystical/supernatural ability because she is in the power of Satanic forces.

The Bible warns us that Satan "masquerades as an angel of light." (2 Corinthians 11:14) Biblically, it appears that Satan does have limited supernatural power to deceive us. Demons and Satanic forces are real. We mess with such forces to our peril. God does not tell us to avoid such people simply because they might be charlatans. Satan has real power to deceive us, and he can use people as his instruments. Whether this woman has access to demonic power or whether she is simply a very smart trickster, I am not sure I can tell you for sure. Either way, Satan has clearly used this incident (and your foolish decision to visit the witch) to confuse you and deceive you. This is not surprising. This is one of his standard tricks. Not surprisingly, once you had this scary experience, it produced an emotional reaction in you. This was Satan’s goal. However, what you need to do is to repent of your mistake and turn to God. I suggest you spend some time studying Ephesians 6:10-18. Here you will see that there is a spiritual battle going on behind the scenes. As humans, we are not in a position to fight such battles by ourselves. We need to rely on God to help us to fight this spiritual battle. You need to trust in God. This is the key. This medium has gotten you thinking all kinds or really crazy thoughts, most of which are completely irrational. For example, there is absolutely NO good evidence for UFOs and alien visits. It is good to be open-minded, but UFO claims are utter nonsense. It is good to be open minded, but let us not be open to just any ideas.

Here is my advice. You need to push your "reset" button. What I mean is this: You need to ask yourself what you are sure of. For me, the things I am sure about include the following. First, God exists. Second, the Bible is inspired by God. The evidence for this is absolutely overwhelming. If the Bible is inspired by God, and if I start with this knowledge, then this answers a lot of questions. You do not need to worry about any satanic powers because God is greater than Satan! Another thing I am absolutely convinced of is that Jesus is the Messiah and that he was resurrected. If this is true, then this answers a lot of questions. I am not sure if the woman you visited was just a manipulative liar or a servant of Satan. However, what I am sure about is that if Jesus was raised from the dead, then you have nothing to fear. You can trust in God. UFO’s beliefs are total nonsense. However, even if they were real (as ridiculous as this proposal may be), this would not change the fact that God loves you and that he is in control. You should focus on trusting God rather than all these crazy ideas. Satan wants to use you moment of weakness to get you to lose focus on God. Do not give in to this. Put your faith in God.
