EFC Newsletter 12/28/2018
Dear EFC Subscribers:
First of all, Jan and I have a major announcement. As of February 1, we are moving to Bakersfield, California where I will be taking a full time position as minister for the Bakersfield Church of Christ. Having “retired” last June, we were given the opportunity to serve God in a new and different way and we took it. We are very excited about the next adventure in our lives. This move will not greatly affect what we are doing through Evidence For Christianity. I will still be answering questions, posting newsletters, podcasts, classes, putting on mini-conferences, mentoring students in our Apologetics Certificate Program. writing books and traveling throughout the world to teach for churches. However, our ministry will broaden a bit, and we will be posting more ministry-related articles and sermons from our local ministry. This is a bit of an experiment for us, as it is not common for someone whose first gift is in teaching to lead a local church. Please be praying for Jan and I as we take on this new role.
Missionary Teaching Trip to Nigeria, Togo, Congo and Zambia
I will be teaching in Abuja and Jos, Nigeria 1/3-1/9, Lome, Togo 1/10-1/14, Brazzaville and Point Noire, Republic of Congo 1/15-1/20 and Lusaka, Zambia 1/21-1/25. We will be posting a journal as well as lesson audio and power points. Please pray for health and energy to complete this arduous teaching trip. Also, if you are able to support this work financially, please contribute directly through the web site or contact Jan at joakes01@san.rr.com or 858-505-8841. We are taking this work on faith, financially!
