What does the Bible have to say about cremation?

The Bible says absolutely zero about cremation. Any thoughts on this
practice must be generated based on biblical principles, not on direct
Bible teaching. What we can say for sure is that our original bodies will
completely decay eventually. They will return to dust, as you know from
Genesis. Our original actual physical bodies will not be resurrected. In
fact, once we die and our bodies decompose, the atoms which formed us end
up distributed widely, including in other animals and even people. I
believe some are squeamish about cremation because of a superstitious idea
about the meaning of the resurrection. We will have new bodies. Like
Paul said, “Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does
the perishable inherit the imperishable.” (1 Corinthians 15:50). We wil
have new bodies, and they will not be physical, at least not in the sense
we understand it. Cremation is a non-issue biblically.
