By reading the Old and New Testament what can I learn?

This is such a broad question it is hard to begin.  Let me answer your
question by making one suggestion.  I would suggest that if you read both the
New Testament and the Old Testament carefully, you will find that they have
a single common theme and message.   The theme is that God loves each and every
one of us and that he wants a relationship with us.  I am currently writing
a book on this subject.  The thesis of this book is that one can sum up the
Old Testament by the following statement:   The Messiah is coming, bringing
salvation.   By the same token, the New Testament can be summed up with the
following statement:  The Messiah is here, bringing salvation.  If you are interested
in pursuing this line of thinking and study, here is a link so that you can read
the current manuscript of my book:    From Shadow to Reality .

To summarize, The Old and New Testaments show unmistakable signs
of inspiration of God, having a common theme, being connected by historical
and predictive prophecy, all pointing to the unitary plan of God which has all
along been to send his Son to the earth to make a perfect sacrifice so that sinners
may be brought into a saved relationship with God the Father.
