In the Bible it is said and we take that as right that God is not physical, he is out of time and space and that he is the spirit. But why does the Bible say that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God or that we will sit, sing and clap with […]
I was thinking about the first century church and I was wondering why God didn’t let the great commission be accomplished in the first century. He knew that a lot of people would not hear the message due to false teachings, traditions, other religions, illiteracy and because in some places in the world Jesus wasn’t […]
Many scholars have used the writings of Josephus the Jew as historical evidence for Jesus. But there are a lot of critics who say that the writings of Josephus didn’t even exist until the sixth century. In other words Josephus couldn’t have written it. What do you know about this? I have not personally heard […]
I’ve heard a lot of people say that Islam is a religion of war instead of peace, because of Mohammed’s actions, history, references in the Koran, the terrorists etc. But the God of the Bible murdered and let his people slaughter many peoples who were not living by his standards. How can I explain that […]
In the Bible, what do the Unicorns symbolize and where in the Bible are they talked about? That is a pretty easy question. Unicorns do not appear anywhere in the Bible and therefore they do not symbolize anything in the Bible. There is no word in either the Hebrew Old Testament of the Greek New […]
How can I tell the OT of the Bible is the real OT (ie the original Hebrew Bible) or if it is really just a more modern day Jewish OT? They claim the Bible’s OT is rewritten and has mistakes. Can you please clear things up for me? I believe I give a pretty thorough […]
Can you help me understand the meaning of the Sabbath Day in Hebrews 4? In Hebrews 4, the Hebrew writer is using the analogy of the Sabbath rest to the future rest for those who enter heaven. To bring this home you really need to go back to Hebrews 3:12-19. In this section, the writer […]
As for the Behemoth, why would God imagine a creature just to compare himself to it? It wouldn’t make sense to say you are like a borificjamble a creature, which you made up and is very, very, strong; no one would relate to the borififjamble and your meaning would be lost. As for dragons, why […]
I saw your article on historical and archaelogical evidences for the bible and I was intrigued. I have been reading about a guy you may have heard of Bob Cornuke. His story is amazing. A former LA SWAT police officer he joined up with a rich guy to pursue biblical archaeology. He believes the bible […]
What is the difference between the Hebrew name Yeshua, Yahweh and God, Jesus? The bible says that it is through his name that we are saved. Then why do we call him Jesus instead of his Hebrew name, Yeshua? First, let me be humble and confess that I am absolutely not an expert in either […]
When God picked the few people to be his followers, do we know how he did that? And the people who live in a place where there is no possible way to convert into Christianity, are they guaranteed to go to hell? If he loves all his children equally, shouldn’t he give them all an […]
How could Noah’s ark have contained two of every single creature? There are many, many, many different species in the world… You ask a question which has no easy answer. Any answer would have to involve some speculation, so forgive me as I speculate! First, your claim is certainly true. There are literally millions of […]
Unicorns, Dragons, and other creatures we normally associate with fantasy are mentioned in the Bible. Did they really exist? Editor’s note: This answer is copied and pasted from Yahoo Answers as it is actually a significantly better anwere than the one I originally gave to this question! John Oakes Best Answer – Chosen by Voters […]
Why did God create the other planets(Mars, Mercury, etc.)? Also, if stars are meant to give us “light” what about other stellar phenomena such as nebulae and black holes? In the final analysis I cannot speak for God about why he did what he did. However there seems to be a perfectly natural explanation for […]
How does Christianity explain the different races? And what about the fact that early humans were shorter on average? My friends say that we have evolved to grow taller. Is this true? To put it simply, the Bible does not explain the different races. The difference between the races has to do with genetic material […]
I was wondering how to refute the teachings of the Jehovah Witnesses? I have a sister who is very involved in this religion and I don’t know how to reach her without her getting defensive. I want to be able to help her be discerning when it comes to committing herself to something so life […]
What about the people who speak with the dead spirits. Is it true? Are there really people who can heal thru the spirits? What about that people who can predict the future? My wife’s grandmother was able to cure with the help of the spirit of some dead scientists, e.g. Robert Hook, and we know […]
Como ser um cristao constante. (which translates from the Portuguese as “How to be a faithful Christian?”) There are many ways to answer this question, and I would suggest you find someone you know who is a faithful Christian and ask them. (By the way, I do not speak Portuguese, and am hoping faithful is […]
Why do many people believe that God is fake and not real? This is a fairly broad question, and I am afraid it is difficult to give one answer which will apply in all cases. To start off, let me refer you to Romans 1:18-23 which explains that unbelievers, in order to reach this conclusion, […]
What is the difference between the KJV and the NIV? The simple answer is that people make a big deal about the difference between the NIV (New International Version) and the KJV (King James Version) because they are stuck in a tradition. Some people have become so tied into the particular wording used in the […]
Where did Cain’s wife come from in Genesis 4? This is a fairly common question. I have only seen only one reasonable explanation which does not require bending the biblical text. That is to assume that Adam and Eve had a great number of children and that Cain married one of them. Clearly if there […]
How can I be assured that Christianity is correct and the one true way? The only way you can be sure is to ask the hard questions. Whether or not Christianity is the true and correct way hangs on whether the Bible is inspired by God. And assuming this whether you are following that correct […]
Where did God come from? You ask what is really more a question for the philosopher. This is a question which philosophers have pondered from the time belief in God or even in “gods” has existed. In other words, you ask a question which has been asked since there were people. Let me give the […]
How can people say the power of the Holy Spirit was for the apostles and not for today? What scripture would support such a claim? That would depend on what is meant by the claim. If someone claims that we cannot receive the Holy Spirit today, they are obviously wrong. As it says in Acts […]
My dad is an unbeliever. How do I show him that the Bible is real? You describe what at first may seem like an impossible problem to solve. How can you convince your father that the Bible is true without using the Bible itself? It is not uncommon for skeptics to ask a believer to […]
What is Chaff? Chaff is the straw which is collected along with the grain when such crops as wheat, barley, millet and rice are harvested. In biblical times, the wheat was removed from the chaff by throwing both up into the air. The wheat, being more dense, would fall back into the original container, while […]
If Adam and Eve were created first, who did their children marry? If one is to take the account in Genesis chapter one and two at face value, then one must assume that Adam and Eve’s children did indeed marry one another. Some have speculated that at this point in the history of humanity, there […]
In the Old Testament, God is often given animal sacrifices 1) What is their significance ? 2) Why is not it being practiced in Christian churches today? Answer: The signigicance of the OT sacrifices depends on which sacrifice you are talking about. There were the; 1. Sin Offering. Atonement for a personal willful sin. (Lev […]
The Qur’an (or Koran), which actually mentions Jesus Christ far more than it does Mohammed, teaches the Virgin Birth of Christ, as well as his Second Coming, but not his crucifixion. (Muslim apologists call it ‘the crucifiction.’) They consider Jesus to have been one of the greatest prophets of all time, though Mohammed, according to […]
“I understand (and have read) your view of the old earth theory. I was wondering how would you line up the old earth theory with Romans 5:12. It seems that if death were already occurring prior to the fall of man (which would be the case if the earth is billions of years old) than […]
God tells us to be merciful and loving to our enemies (Ex 23:4-5, Mt 5:43-48, Lk 6:27-35). But God on the other hand will send his enemies to hell for eternity (Lk 16:19-26, 9:43-48, Jude7, Rev 20:14-15). To state the same point differently, in the Old Testament we are taught justice in an eye for […]
I have heard that the Quran has been changed and corrected a few times. Could you please shed more light on this? i.e. where? when? by whom? Although I have read the entire Quran, as well as a number of books on Islam, I do not feel I am an expert on this subject. Yes, […]
How exactly does the fossil record disprove evolution? For many years teachers have said that it is evolutions greatest strength for proving that all life originated from one common ancestor. First, your intuition that the fossil record does not strongly support the atheistic theory of evolution is good. Second, the person who said that the […]
Mammoths have been unearthed and were found to have died from freezing while their last meal was warm weather food (namely flowers); does this support the Hydroplate theory This is apparently a fact. I am not sure I can answer how it happened. Perhaps some catastrophic event caused this. Perhaps even a catastrophic event of […]
I read the Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 accounts and they seem contradictory. I began the Adam and Eve at Genesis 2:7 and was not able to completely eliminate discrepincies. My major confusion is that in Genesis 2 it seems that the order of the creation of man and the creation of animals is reversed. […]
The sun and the moon were created by the end of the first day. What you see in Genesis 1:14-16 is that now, for the first time, the sun and the moon became visible from the earth’s surface. In the early history of the earth, there was a very thick atmosphere containing substances such as […]
Genesis describes pairs of each of the animals, but seven of certain animals. These were the ceremonially clean animals which Noah and his family were to eat while on the ark. These animals are domesticated ones. Genesis 7:1,2 says to take two of each animal, except seven of each clean animal. I admit I am […]
I have been a disciple for 5 years. During this time, a few of our brothers and sisters have passed away. Many times I have heard either the lead evangelist, or staff say that, that brother or sister is in heaven. This has bothered me for some time, so I have begun to study it […]
I really enjoyed the book From Shadow to Reality. It gave me a more global perspective for the whole Bible and tied up some loose ends for me. I did have a question though about something you wrote. At one point, you wrote that Jesus fulfills the prophecy of coming from the lineage of Judah […]
Miracle of Science or Perspective of the observer; Did the sun stand still? God is a God of order, yet he performs miracles outside of the natural laws that govern our world. From a scientific perspective, even a miracle would not allow the sun to suddenly simply stop in the sky. That would mean that […]
Q-Source, Do you believe that there was a Q? If so, then was God’s inspired word lost? The Q-Source is a hypothesis contrived to explain both the similarities and the differences between Matthew, Mark and Luke. Was there a written source of sayings and acts of Jesus available before Mark or Matthew wrote their gospels? […]
Could the characters “Cain and Abel” and “Jacob and Esau?” be perhaps symbolic or representative of a species, not actual individuals? Or be real individuals that have symbolic meaning for different species that have existed in the past? Personally, I would hold out that Cain and Abel (and Adam and Eve for that matter) were […]
Cro-Magnon lived up to 100,000 and Neanderthal up to 300,000 years ago. What was the most recent dates for those species and when were they extinct? What year was Homo-Sapien on the scene – 45,000 years ago? Cain was the first agricultural farmer as far as evidence in the Bible, were the Homo-Sapiens the first […]
That is a good question! Because I wrote the book, “Daniel, Prophet to the Nations” I have had to research this question somewhat carefully. The best I can tell, the Bible gives absolutely no direct information as to the lineage of Daniel, or where he was born. For this reason, one is left to speculate […]
I would like to know difference between choice and fate in our Christian walk. Starting from Adam to Judas. This is certainly one of the most significant theological/doctrinal debates in the history of Christianity?indeed in all religions. Given that God is all-knowing and all-powerful, and given that he exists outside of time, it seems logical […]
What was Paul’s purpose for writing Romans? What principles stressed? What are the potential for today? Most commentators believe that with Romans, although the letter is addressed to the church in Rome, it is a general epistle. In other words, the letter was intended all along to be a letter to all the churches. To […]
I was posed with a question that I did not know exactly how to answer, one of many that I am unable to answer is; “If you discovered a truth that was truer than the Bible, would you go for it?” In other words, if you were to discover there to be a higher truth […]
What are the types of English translations (literal, interpretation, literal+interpretion): Holman (HCSB), King James, Contemporary (CEV), Good News (GNB), God’s Word (GW), The Message (MSG)? We see the MSG translation as interpretation and the KJV as a literal translation. Is that correct? (I am Romanian and my wife is Hungarian) About Bible versions, it is […]
Is there any implication in the Bible that Jesus will come again as an infant? I was always led to believe that the 2nd coming of Christ would be on a cloud. No, there is absolutely not a shred of evidence to cause us to believe that Jesus will come back again as an infant. […]
Since Jesus is both God and a man, how can the death of Jesus (and his experience in Hell) make sense? I understand that Jesus had to go there to pay for ours sins but how can God be almighty and in Satan’s hand (even if it is 3 days). I will attempt to give […]
